Tampons

Okay, so I've just recently started using tampons and for the most part I can say that I love them ... They are MUCH better than pads, but even when I wear them I still put on a pad in case there is any leakage? ... Is there a better way to do this so that I am not constantly using tampons & pads during my cycle?
