Vaginal ring and Ella

I had sex and my boyfriend came in me. In the moment I thought I might as well take Ella for extra protection. I looked it up a day later and it said that taking Ella and the ring can make them both not work. Said that you should take the ring out right after taking Ella. I waited a day before I did. Should I still be protected or should I worry?
