Should I demand for a laparoscopy?

Bethany

I'm 18 and have suffered from severe pain during my period and throughout my entire cycle. I started my period when I was 12 or 13 and when I was around 14 I suffered from PMDD and suicidal thoughts, including later that year suffered from very severe pain to the point where I felt sick and had severe diarrhoea but also couldn't get out of bed because how bad the pain was.

I started birth control, I take the Brenda-35 pill, I started a higher dose pill when I was 15 but it wasn't helping my acne so I was switched to the Brenda pill.

My family has a big history of endometriosis and PCOS. My mum suffered from it as well as infertility issues, took her 4 years to have me and 9 more years to have my little brother. My mum had a cyst burst a few years ago and after that she had a hysterectomy.

Earlier this year, during a point of my ovulation, I suffered from what I believe was a burst cyst. I had severe abdominal pain and was vomiting and all. I had an ultrasound done and they said it looked fine. The hospital said I had just a bad UTI.

I've had another ultrasound a few months ago and went to see a gynaecologist, all he did was look at my ultrasound and say it looked fine. Tried telling me my pain was normal and told me to take pain meds.

I know my body, and I believe that this isn't normal and I'm still suffering, and I have started a job and don't want to continue to suffer. Should I find a different doctor or demand my regular doctor to get me a referral for a laparoscopy?
