i’m honestly a bit picky when it comes to my kids toys. i try to have a more minimalist montessori approach to toys. i like educational/open ended. i don’t like those electronic musical toys.

every year for christmas/birthdays i mention to people what i like. what i’m planning on getting them (if they want to go in on it), things they need, etc. or always mention money is great because then we can get what they need! but no one in my family ever seems to listen and it’s extremely frustrating. i feel like they think i’m rude or something.

this christmas, once again it happened. everyone said they were going to pitch in on a big gift for the kids to share that i wanted to get them and now everyone just told us that they actually already bought them gifts.

now i worried about what they got!! any suggestions on how to handle this?
