My fiancé and I were going to take a two week trip to Disney World & the beach. I planned everything for a year and paid 50% of the trip. He’s never been to Florida so I was super excited to show him everything. About a week before we were set to leave, we get in an argument about something EXTREMELY minimal (I cooked him a 3 course dinner and he decided to eat his mom’s cooking instead, I told him it hurt my feelings because he knew I was planning on cooking him something special and he told me he can’t help that his mom is a better cook, the argument didn’t even escalate I just cried). After the argument my fiancé called off the entire trip and said he wasn’t going to go because he can’t stand me right now.

I begged and begged him for several days to reconsider but he refused. I eventually told him if he doesn’t go, I will ask my good friend from work if they want to go with me in his place. All he said was “whatever” and went to his mom’s house for several days and didn’t even bother to call or text me.

Long story short, I asked my friend from work and she was thrilled, we had the time of our life, and are already planning our second trip back. We grew super close and I now consider her a best friend.

My fiancé is ENRAGED with me. He is demanding all the money back even though I paid for 50% of the trip. He is threatening to call off our engagement and is accusing me of being a lesbian with my friend. He even texted me that he “hopes I rot in hell.”

Was I wrong for going with my friend instead?? Also I didn’t even post pictures of the trip or anything because I didn’t want to rub it in his face, but he literally chose not to go.
