My birth/pregnancy story

Kaylynn

Hello there, I’m Kaylynn, I’m 18 years old I found out I was pregnant in may I was 17 years old and had a miscarriage in February 2021 so I was quite anxious going into the pregnancy, it started off rough with lots of nausea to the point I couldn’t eat or drink so I was prescribed pills to help with that, 3 week into that I found out the one pill they gave me was not safe during pregnancy but luckily I wasn’t taking those ones, about half way threw I was relieved to have made it past 20 weeks which is when I miscarried in my last pregnancy, my nausea had gone away a little bit but was still there, and then I hit 30 weeks I was so happy but also so ready to meet baby already (gender was a surprise) but the nausea had picked up really bad again along with all the aches, pains and tiredness of the third trimester, at about 30w 5 days I started getting what I thought was Braxton hicks contractions but I wasn’t to worried as that is normal however on Tuesday November 29th at 31 weeks, I woke up for work at 6:15am and my water had broke me and my bf did not have anything ready! No hospital bag prepared nothing so we threw together a few clothes and rushed to the hospital, once we got there they hooked me up to 2 ivs one in each hand and rushed me to a bigger hospital as the one we where closest to was not equipped to deliver a 31 week baby, once we got to the second hospital I was about 3 cm dilated and they where trying everything to stop contractions and labor from happening, they then decided to transfer me to yet another hospital that delivers baby’s between 24-33w babies. Once we got there I was still 3 cm dilated and wasn’t progressing so they got me a room ready and put me in antenatal, not to mention my birthday was the very next day on November 30th, I was on iv antibiotics for 48h to delay labor and stop an infection from happening as there was no protection anymore as my water had broke I was then taken off of them and about 4-8 hours later I started having contractions again, I was given morphine to help with pain and it did but also made me freak out bc I couldn’t breath so on Friday December 2nd there was nothing they could do to stop this from happening I progressed from 6-9cm in 2 hours which is fast for how slow it was going earlier, and at 7:56pm Friday December 2nd our baby girl was born after 3-6 pushed, she was 32 weeks exactly and weighed 4Ibs even we are still in the NICU but she is progressing extremely well she would have been 33w 4days as of today. Was not how I wanted to spend my birthday but I’m happy she is heathy💖❤️ she has now been taken out of the NICU pod and placed in a bed!! She has to gain some weight and start eating my breast milk on her own then we can go home we are hoping before Christmas, I have been staying with her and haven’t been home in 2 weeks so hopefully soon baby girl☺️
