Do you get "touched out"?

My daughter breastfeeds every 2-3 hours and as a 2 month old, she spends a good portion of her day in my arms or in the baby sling. Unfortunately, because I'm in contact with her all the time, I find I get "touched out".
I like to cuddle my husband in bed, but right now, I don't really want to hug people or be touched. Is this normal?

Totally normal. I am breastfeeding my toddler and newborn and I am always touched out by the end of the day. My husband knows from when our first was a newborn that I need some personal space for the first few months at least, even more so now that I’m nursing two kids. His love language is physical touch though so I make sure in the morning to give him a good hug and kiss before I get the girls out of bed. He doesn’t expect it but I know he appreciates it.
It’s totally ok to tell people that you’re touched out and don’t want to hug or touch though. My mom was here for the first three weeks after I gave birth, and she gives comfort and reassurance through little touches (a back rub, brushing hair out of my face etc) and I had to ask her to please stop touching me because I needed my body to just be mine sometimes. She wasn’t offended, and it really helped to be given that space.

Yes I’m this way too! I love and am fine cuddling and being in contact with my daughter, but I want no physical contact with anyone else particularly at the end of the day.
