My daughter will be 3 in February and the last few weeks she’s all of a sudden terrified of the dark. Not just at night time but if it’s like a cloudy day and the house is a little dim she freaks out. She won’t go down the hall or in any room that is slightly dark. She does turn some lights on as she goes. But night time is the worst. She’s had a night light since she was a baby. She loved it. It lights up her whole room and she likes being able to pick the color. But lately she’s been asking to sleep with her lamp on. She throws a fit at bedtime because she’s scared. She’ll cover her eyes with her hands or the blanket to go to sleep.

I feel bad that she’s so scared. Idk what to do for her beyond the night light. I’ve explained to her there’s nothing to be scared of and mom and dad are right here if she needs us but she’s still petrified.
