My doctor is stressing me out

So my period is 5 days late according to my <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glow.android.eve">period apps</a>. I’ve tested and none of my pregnancy tests come back positive. However my doctor is telling me I’m testing too early!?!? How late do I have to be to have a positive? These are early detection tests I’m taking
