Co-sleeper bassinet vs. regular bassinet or pack n play?

Question

I've been doing some research on the arm's reach co-sleeper that attaches to your bed and think I want to use that for that first few months. However, my boyfriend thinks we should just use a pack and play that has the bassinet on top. I also plan on breastfeeding which is why I thought the co-sleeper would be more convenient. Either way, I want the baby to be next to me in some type of bassinet for the first few months.  
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? I know the pack and play would be more useful as it has more than one use, but wasn't sure how great it was as a bassinet.

i coslep with both my boys my youngest was able to move to his crib by 10 months old but still getting up to nurse. hes now almost 13 months old. i love the snuggles :)

I bought a Hallo bassinet. I plan to breastfeed and my bed it high so it's perfect bc it's adjustable. I really don't want my baby IN my bed

We used a pack n play with the bassinet on top for my first. I ended up having a c section and it was extremely difficult on me. This time I plan on getting the halo bassinet. I'm hoping for a VBAC, but preparing for a 2nd c section. The halo slides over your mattress but has a side that folds down to lay the baby down and goes back up so they're truly in their own space. We still have the pack n play from our first so that'll be a back up

We decided to do an in bed co sleeper.. Then transition her to her crib after a few months..

I LOVED my co sleeper!!!!! I nursed my daughter and she stayed in our room and her co sleeper for 6 months until she basically outgrew it! We had a pack n play too, and I used it when we traveled and I definitely loved that the side went down on the co sleeper and that you could add extensions to the legs so it was the same height as the bed. The pack n play is lower so depending on your bed you will probably have to get out of bed to get the baby.

I co slept with my first. This baby I plan on using a pack and play. I really don't want to go back to co sleeping. It took us 2 years to get our daughter out of our bed.

It depends on finances, honestly. Pack and plays are convenient to have for lots of reasons, but the arm's reach is amazing and can be lowered when baby starts being able to sit up if you're not ready to transition to their own room.

I would say pack and play too. The side sleepers are so expensive and really only good for a few months. Then you would have to deal with trying to switch baby to a new sleeping arrangement as they got bigger.
