16 month old biting, hitting, and pulling hair.
My daughter has started hitting, biting, and pulling hair and laughing at us when we sternly tell her no. 9/10 she laughs and continues to do it, even if we physically remove her from us, she’s cry for a moment then come back to do it again. Rarely she will cry if my husband “yells” at her, but if I do it it’s hilarious.
It’s been going on for months and we’ve tried a couple different appoarches. When she was bit younger we tried just ignoring and distracting, didn’t work and she would do it more aggressively. Second we tried sternly telling her no, and being sad and “hurt” she hurt us. This at first seemed to work a little but then it became a game. And now out of pure desperation I have pulled her hair back to show her it hurts or smacked her hand, which is not something I would like to continue and goes against everything I wanted to be as a parent. It did shock her and she was upset, but it doesn’t help the situation long term. Any advice? Something you did that worked? Some words of encouragement that my toddler isn’t a monster and it’s just a phase😩
