Can second hand Marijuana smoking cause you to test positive on a drug test?

Question

I'm in a state where Marijuana is legal. I used to smoke daily but in July 2021 I stopped completely. So for almost a year and a half I have not consumed any type of Marijuana. Last month I was around someone for a few days who smoked. A few days later I was in the hospital and tested positive for Marijuana. There's no issues for me or anything, but I'm just wondering how could I test positive if I haven't used any in a long time?

Definitely possible. You’re still inhaling it without actively doing it yourself, it’s second hand.

I’ve been around a daily smoker for 10 years and taken multiple urine test at work and have always passed.

Well yeah you're still inhaling the smell in so of course you'd test positive. It's contact high

Yea. As an addictions counselor I have been “high” in session. It’s awful and my hair follicle test came back positive😂
