My baby is almost 1 month old, and he has a phase of crying every evening for 2-4 hours usually somewhere between 10pm and 2am. Even when he’s full with a clean diaper, low lights, sound machine, he cries for at least a couple hours. I’ve heard of the witching hours, but this has been going on a couple weeks … not just a few days. This doesn’t seem like a growth spurt phase. And if it were colic, why would it only happen in the late evening? I’m also dreading that some people say this fussiness peaks at 6-8 weeks, and he’s just under 4 weeks.

Should I try to keep him up longer in the daytime when he’s napping a lot? I know it’s too early to try full-on “sleep training”, but my husband and I are going a little crazy every evening because we don’t know how to sooth him.
