Unmedicated birth!
I honestly didn’t think I’d be able to have an unmedicated birth after my first two experiences. I got a membrane sweep at 40+1 and honestly wasn’t very hopeful that it would put me into labor since I had two membrane sweeps with my 2nd that didn’t end up working. Did some walking, but not much. On 11/11 I decided to go to Walmart and walk around. I leaked twice while at Walmart and still not really sure what it was, but I was having contractions while there. We finally got home and I decided to eat some pie and play animal crossing. The contractions were getting more intense and a little bit after midnight on 11/12 I decided it was time to go to the hospital. When I got there the nurse checked me and I was 3cm so I figured they would send me home, but a few minutes after she checked me my water broke. She had me walk around for a little bit and then I got in the shower for the warm water. I was in there for maybe 30 minutes before I got out because my legs were hurting and asked to get in the tub. She put me on the monitors while she was getting the tub ready. Got in around 3am and was nauseous and shaky before I even got in so I should have known I was in transition. I don’t know what time it was exactly when I decided I wanted the epidural, but I got out and she checked me to make sure we had time. I was 7cm so they started hooking things up and placing an IV, but I couldn’t stay still because I was laying on my back and didn’t want to be. I got on my hands and knees since it was the only comfortable position and my body started pushing on its own and she was delivered at 4:09am. My midwife didn’t even make it to the hospital (for the second time)😂 It was overall a great experience compared to my other two and was less than 5 hours from water breaking which was my fastest labor by a long shot. The worst part was the nurse sticking her arm inside of me while I was pushing to make sure I was fully dilated all the way since i dilated so fast.
