What did you have a baby?

Question

Why did you have a baby? And if your answer is “because I wanted to…”. Please explain. The poll is anonymous.

Because I’ve always loved children. I knew I wanted to be a mom since I was a child. I worked at a summer camp and at a pre school for over a decade. Now I work in child protection. I just love kids. I love watching them grow, I love teaching them and helping them.  I love caring for them. I expect nothing in return.

I got children to experience the love that can be in a family. I grew up with a sick and abusive parent and I'm just enjoying having the family life I always dreamt of as a kid! 😊

I grew up with lots of cousins and was always very maternal, being a mother has always been something I wanted in life.

I deeply desired a child and I also just one was the great challenge in my life that would change me and make me grow in a way no other experience could.  And that’s been totally right!

I got married under the impression I didn’t want kids anytime soon…about 6 months into my marriage I got this overwhelming feeling I wanted a baby and wanted to start a family. My husband was on board, family was all supportive and so exited. Best decision of my life.

Because I enjoyed helping raise my baby sisters when I was a teen and watching them grow up. I suspected it would be even more fun as an actual adult and without my parents inserting their own issues (and it is!).

I wanted to care for another human and experience raising a child. I want four more.
