Probiotics for toddler?

For a toddler who is constantly trying to hold in their bowel movements

Probiotics help regulate and heal gut health. It will make bowel movements softer. It might not solve the issue of holding it in tho unless it’s due to being afraid of having a hard bowel movement!

It also could be a medical condition called encapresis. I would see a gi doctor. My brother had it and it's harder to fix the older they get.

Probiotics are great for overall gut health. I’m a big fan. But a little apple juice or prune purée/juice worked well when my daughter was holding in her poops during potty training. If she didn’t go poop one day, the next morning I’d give her a little apple juice and it kept things moving for her, made it easier for her to get out and harder to hold in. We generally never give juice though, don’t think it would work as well if juice is a regular part of her diet.
