at my son 4 months follow the dr suggested I should start solid because he is not gaining a lot of weight, he weight only 12.8lbs. im exclusive breastfeeding, im very petite and my 3 year old is very petite as well. idk of should wait or no?? please any recommendations, any small babies with the same issue? thank you in advance

I would still wait. My one twin was 12.5lbs and the other 13lbs and was told to wait until 6 months.

My daughters pediatrician told us to start at 4 months, baby boys 4 month appt is next week and he has a different pediatrician so we will see what she says.
Every pediatrician is different. You could always offer it and if they don’t do well don’t stress about it or hold off until you are more comfortable with you.

Our pediatrician wants us to give my daughter peanut butter to hopefully avoid any allergies since her older brother has a Nut 🥜 allergy. She said to mix peanut butter with baby cereal and add breast milk.

I started giving my baby purees at 4 months old exactly because she wasn't gaining much weight and she was born 4 pounds 4 ounces at 37 weeks and is still in 3 month clothes at 5 months old. Also she was always extremely interested in eating our food. She always looks at our food then licks her lips. She loves all the food I gave her so far.

I gave my daughter rice cereal mixed with breast milk at about 18 weeks. She loves it.

My paeds also told me to start solid food on 5months coz I’ve stopped my breastfeed last month. She said if fully breastmilk only can start by 6months. But me n my husband decided to start on 6months. Coz our baby weight now 6.33kg at 4montjs

Is the growth curve okay? Baby still gained regardless, right?
My first had slow weight gain and bad reflux but because he was still gaining no one would do anything. 
That being said I think it is pretty standard for peds to say you can start solids before 6m. I have heard and seen that a lot of late.

I’m in the same situation, my baby is 12lbs 13 oz at 4 months. He only gained 10 oz since his 2 month appointment. My doctor suggested solids but I told him I didn’t think he was ready for it. He then told me to nurse baby for 15 mins then pump and feed what’s in the bottle. Since doing this I realized my supply has dropped a lot so I’m doing what I can to increase my supply and using milk from my freezer. I do think I’ll introduce purées around 5 months (if he’s ready) like I did with my first and hopefully that will help.
