Families with 3+ kids, how do you do it??

Kilou

I’ve always loved the idea of a big family. I grew up with a single mom and one sister.

I’m 29 and pregnant with what will hopefully be our first. We agreed two or none, we don’t want to raise an only child. I would love 4! I know a family with 7!! Just saw a post with 11!!! And I’m like HOW?!!

If you have more than 2 kids, how are you financially able to care for them? I’m genuinely curious— a little envious too haha as I don’t think we could swing a 3rd much less a 4th

My husband and I make about 110k a year combined. We currently dump a grand towards vehicles (half goes to our new crv, the other half goes to two new motorcycles) and then we usually have 1500$ we put towards debt, and now savings as we just got out of debt (cc debt not, not vehicle debt with positive equity). If we dumped the MCs we’d have about 2000$ to play with. If we have 2 kids, that money is going straight to rent (as we will need a 3 bedroom) and feeding/clothing the little humans.

Where are y’all keeping your kids?? Is rent cheaper where you are? Do you have a family home you inherited? Or you managed to own a home and pay it off while on mat leave? Are you independently wealthy? Inheritance? Just make a ton more than us? How do you afford day care for that many? Or do you manage to live on a single income?

Are any of people making about as much as my husband and I?
