How to tell if you have lice?

I work in a nursing facility and they didn’t say they had lice until after I left (agency) and now I found 2 tiny little ball things on my head. They were white but maybe a little translucent. I hope I’m just paranoid but I’ve never seen this before

So what you found are probably nits (eggs). That's what they look like. I would do a treatment just in case and go ahead and wash all of your clothes and bedding
