Backstory:

My boyfriends brother & fiancé are amazing and we are decently close with them! They got engaged last spring (we were very involved) and get married this summer! They went through a wedding phase where they needed someone to watch their dog multiple times and we did it no problem for free & literally the dog is so perfect I’d watch it every day if I could do it was never an issue for us! For Christmas this year with the wedding so close they said they were giving cookies to save money, totally understandable and we were like ok does that mean no stress on giving anything crazy? Last year they randomly decided to give us an amazing date night (200+) granted my bf and I were young and I was in grad school and him unemployed so we couldn’t do much. THIS year, we thought cookies, nope, $300+ in gift cards and items for us to take a trip!! I was like oh my gosh and now feel horrible bc we expected nothing. They do go over board for us because they are very appreciative for us watching their dog but again we legit beg to do it! Sorry for the long story but please drop any types of gifts!!!
