Should I keep a stray cat?
So for months, since summer time there’s been a young boy cat that’s been coming to yard and porch every week. He’s very friendly and loving. I’ll feed it every time I see it and leave water out. We have a boy cat already in our home. I been thinking but not for sure yet if I want to maybe take in the cat and get it fixed, flea and worm treatment. The cat always acts like it’s starving when I leave food out but he don’t look unhealthy at all. He appears to be a healthy weight but don’t think he’s someone’s cat. Sometimes when we drive down the street we will see him laying in someone’s yard or walking the side walk. Would it be best to leave him be since he’s used to living outside and appears fed well or should I adopt him? My cat always stoops down at the door and stares at him idk if they’d get along or not. I’ve been thinking about getting a second cat possibly adopting one from a shelter. Should i go that route if I decide to or try and take care of this stray or leave him be? As I was googling it says sometimes it’s best to leave strays be. I have two young children as well. Husband think the stray belongs to somebody as a outside cat because he appears fed well and stays in the area. But I can tell he’s cold out sometimes because he sleeps on our cushioned porch swing on cold nights. I would feel bad if I took someone’s cat.
