second birth stories?

somebody PLEASE tell me it’s better the second time around. with my first, i had a very traumatic birth & im terrified to do it again. i was induced & was in labor for three days. my epidural wore off too quickly so i felt everything. it was so incredibly painful & hard on my body. so tell me? was it better the second time around? worse? the same? i wanna hear stories! i know everybody is different!

I had an awful first birth as well, epidural only numbed one side & then they turned it off when I started pushing because I wasn't doing it correctly so I felt EVERYTHING. It was horrible. 
All my labors/deliveries after that were easy peasy though. 2nd one was only 7 hours from when I started contractions to when I gave birth. Epidural worked great. Very blissful & quick. 😊

My first labor was basically painless and I pushed for an hour with him. I tore a bunch because he kept coming in and out as I pushed. My second labor was on and off for three days, active labor and transition were tough and then SUPER fast delivery. I pushed for 5 minutes and she was there with 3 pushes. No tearing at all! My second birth was traumatic because I didn't have time for an epidural and the ob was incredibly rude and treated me and the nurse like trash. I showed up in labor less than 36 hours before a scheduled induction. He didn't believe I was in labor and refused to let the nurse start an IV, draw any lab work, or give me any pain medicine. I begged the nurse to check me again (I was 3 cm at 2100 with regular, painful contractions 2-4 minutes apart since 1900. He asked me what I was at the office and I was 1 cm, so I had made cervical change) at 2230 even though he wanted her to wait three hours. I was 7 cm, no IV, no labs, no anesthesia in house. She was born at 2314. 
The whole experience made me so angry it basically cemented my desire to work in Labor and Delivery because I never want another mother to feel the way I felt.

With my first birth in 2012 I had to have an emergency surgery because I developed a cyst they did the surgery the same day I turned 5mths I was in a lot of pain stitches, staples, a huge Band-Aid over my stomach couldn’t feel my son moving afterwards ￼Didn’t want to take the morphine because I didn’t want it to affect the baby, but they kept pressing the button then to still have four months to deal with a developing baby. Every time he moved it hurt because of the incision. They cut me from before my vag hair starts all the way up to around my belly button it looks like a hook. Now I’m pregnant with my second and found out that I still have both my ovaries this whole time. I thought the reason why I wasn’t getting pregnant was because I only had one ovary because they told me they took the other one during surgery 10 years ago.

First one was long, but not traumatic. I was induced and in labor for 39 hours, the epidural only worked on half of my body, so that was really weird. But my second was horribly traumatic. I almost died. My son was born dead and was revived 15 minutes later. My placenta spontaneously completely detached. I’m pregnant again for the third time and I’m praying that this one goes well. I’m sure I’ll be on bed rest by the end of the pregnancy.

I’ve had two really good birth experiences but, my second was definitely quicker than my first! With my first, it was about 24 hours from first contractions until she was born, with my second it was about 4 hours from first contractions until she was born.
