If you get pregnant at 34, but will be 35 before baby is born, does your OB consider you advanced maternal age?

I’ve heard different things, so wanted to hear what others have been told. 🙂

I am told 35 and up is ‘geriatric’ (they could use a different word, like mature or something)

Depends on the Dr I guess. I'm 39 and technically am considered a geriatric pregnancy but my midwives don't treat me or the pregnancy any different. Lots of women have babies later in life now with no problems at all.

Yes my mom was 41 when she was pregnant and considered geriatric. She had to get weekly tests done like NST and growth scans.

I’m 34, turning 35 in 3 weeks. Like others have said, I’m labeled as AMA but my appointments have not been any different than they were 4 years ago in my last pregnancy.

Yes, AMA is mother's age at time of birth, not conception, of the baby.

Same situation & although it says AMA on all of my paperwork,  they do not treat me any differently in my opinion.
