Anyone else have a mother or mother in law who is super critical of your parenting!? My mom came for a visit recently, she lives very far away so she only comes maybe once every year or two.. right away after a few hours the comments start - the sound machine is too loud, one year old shouldn't wear socks, or scarves or mittens when it's freezing outside, don't offer any snacks, no cuddling my clingy one year old because it's teaching him to do it more, the kids are sick because you don't wash their hands enough etc etc.. then the gramnesia comments begin: I never cooked breakfast for you when you were little, I just threw Cheerios down the stairs.. I did everything you do but without any help.. I never went to you or your sister if you cried at night even with a fever.. I never bought toys.. I never went out anywhere.. you never made a mess as a baby when you ate.. you never were sick blah blah blah.. omg I can't take it anymore. She just sits in the corner and doesn't help with the kids at all because she's "old" and her back hurts but then just judges us and comments on every thing we do. Makes me so sad and angry.. anyone else can relate?
