What are your favorite classics?

I want to read more classics this year but some I find so dreadfully boring!

I listen to a lot of audiobooks and listening has helped me fall in love with classics. I was supposed to read A Tale of Two Cities in high school and couldn’t get through it, but a decade later with more life experience, I loved it. 
Also I LOVED Les Miserables. It’s very long with lots of historical descriptions that I sometimes tuned out, but the actual story part was incredible. 
And the series that got me into classic literature is called “Thursday Next” by Jasper Fforde. I think it was written in the 2000s and it’s this hilarious mix of quirky/punny/sci-fi/book nerd that appeals immensely to me. To understand a lot of the characters (who come from classic books), I ended up devouring a whole bunch of classic literature and found myself really enjoying it overall! But again, I was listening to all of them and not physically reading them. I definitely wouldn’t have made it through Wuthering Heights or Les Miserable without audio. LM was worth it, period, and WH was worth it for the insight into human character, even though I hated the story.
