Emergent ultrasound
Some background: per my last period I should be 6 weeks 2 days today. I got a positive pregnancy test right around 4 weeks. At that point I had nausea and tender breasts. Around 5 weeks all nausea disappeared. On Saturday morning I experienced some more painful cramps, lasted about 15 minutes. Happened again around dinner time, this time more intense. Happened again while I was sleeping and it woke me up. On Sunday I work a nap and the cramps again woke me up, this time they were almost debilitating. All times lasted about 15 minutes, we’re more intense than any period cramps, and there was no bleeding or discharge. So I called my OB, they were concerned about an ectopic pregnancy and sent me to the ER. While at the ER I got my first ultrasound and blood work.
Per the report there is one gestational sac, and a yolk present. No embryo. The sac measures 1.1mm and the yolk .3cm. There was a small amount of fluid which the report said was probably a subacute small subchorionic hemorrhage. There was no ectopic pregnancy seen. My gestation is measuring 5 weeks 6 days.
Unfortunately the wait at the ER was WAY too long and we could not wait to actually talk to a doctor about the results. Therefore I do not know my HCG levels. I have had a weird feeling about this pregnancy - I can’t visualize holding a baby at the end of it.
So my question is - can anyone help me kind of figure out what’s going on? I plan on calling my OB tomorrow but I’m driving myself nuts googling and reading articles. Can anyone help?
