Proposing

Would it be weird if I proposed to my bf? We've talked about marriage but he hasn't proposed and I really love him and I want to. I'm somewhat afraid he'll think it's weird and say no bc most people think it's up to the man to do this but I don't see the issue. I want you ladies to give me your input on this. I'm a 33f if anyone is wondering.
