I am desperate for advice. My ex husband who we share a 4 year old daughter. I live 1,100 miles from him our marriage ended on terrible terms. There was physical and mental abuse and an unsafe environment for my daughter who was 18 months or so at the time we left. He got into a lot of legal trouble after our split including two home invasion charges one where he plead guilty in April of 2020. He also was heavy into drugs and got charged for this as well. He disappeared on our daughter 30 days after her third birthday. He had a child with another woman while being almost completely uninvolved with our daughter. Once his son was born he finally tried putting in some effort, financially not so much which I do not to hold against him. 1/5/23 he had a sentencing date for the home invasion and they sentenced him jail until at least August 2023 with good behavior. My daughter video chats with him a few days a week so she has developed a relationship with him but she had only seem him once our separation over a span of three years. I know she will ask questions but how do you explain to a four year old where their dad is?
