22month old sleeping issues

So, we switched my daughter to a toddler bed for January first.

She fell off once that night, but never had an issue again, has been sleeping perfectly for her naps and bedtime, zero fight, not getting out of bed, anything.

Tuesday 1/3 she had a high temp of 103.4 we got it to go down, non issue since. Her father and I got sick on Thursday 1/5 and are better now (not COVID)

Saturday nap time, my daughter slept well, no issue. When bed time came around, she got all snuggled into bed, then seconds later, lifting her head screaming and crying. She would not even try and lay down unless I was laying right with her to hold her (I've never done that), she would even tug my head closer towards her. and if it wasn't there, she would try and climb out of bed. If I was sitting there, she'd climb up on me and try and sleep on my shoulder.

She absolutely would not sleep without me and so Saturday night, Sunday nap, and Sunday night, dealing with all this, and she would just sleep at the door.

I get it could be behavioral, but also thinking ear infection since she did so good before for a week and now she won't lay ANYWHERE without me? (I'm a SAH mom, so no daycare) it seems she only falls asleep by the door because that's where she passes out. She reads books for a bit.before she ends up falling asleep.

She has a drs appointment today to check for an ear infection but stated if it's behavioral, it would be a more drawn out process.

Do we switch her back to the crib? (Just putting the side back up)

I know I can let her sleep by the door. I'm more worried about the amount of clinginess for me, and the screaming and crying otherwise and what that is all about.

Thank you for reading and please help!

I did cross-post because I want the most help I can.
