I dont really have a place to take them to (I live in a multi generational home)
Im just fresh out of a divorce and want to try more things since I never did in my youth. I dont know what are the best practices to stay safe but also have fun.
Birth control is not what im worried about. While I can't be on hormonal BC I can find other options (not silly things like rhythm or pull out) and talk to my GYN
Im meaning safety things that I would have either learned younger or learned from gal pals. I was married young so I never got  these talks with my friends.

The most safe and logical thing to do would have these men get tested first. Everyone’s mind goes to pregnancy but what about chlamydia, syphilis, HIV, herpes, public lice, trichomoniasis, HPV, and hepatitis B? If he’s not willing to get tested, his dick doesn’t belong anywhere near you. Always keep a condom and lubricant in your purse. In the heat of the moment it’s easy to forget to make him wear one. 
I’d suggest waiting at least 3 weeks to a month before you sleep with someone. Meet them in a public space and have a chat. Try to have some sort of bonding. Facetime calls and texting. Whatever. Doesn’t even have to be a date or dating. 
If you’re meeting guys on dating apps and going to their house on the first link, that is a recipe for disaster. Women are regularly raped, kidnapped, held hostage or even worse there’s other men there when you arrive and they all take advantage. GET TO KNOW the people you’re fucking. It’ll leave the door open for communication down the line about the sex experience or if something else happens later like a pregnancy or std scare you need to be able to contact them. When you do start meeting up with guys share your location with someone you trust or tell people where you’re going. 
As for emotional safety please figure out what you enjoy when it comes to aftercare and communicate your needs. Without some form of aftercare you’ll feel like shit if men just up and leave right after like you’re a human sex toy. If he can’t or doesn’t offer aftercare stop seeing him before your mental health is run into the ground. 
And lastly, enter this process with no expectations. Don’t expect your hookups to act like boyfriends. Fully assume that they’re seeing other people. Don’t wait around for a text the next day because it might not come. DO NOT fuck them raw. And don’t allow yourself to stay over for an extended amount of time after sex. This is supposed to be fun with no feelings.

Another thing is life 360 with your friends. I met up with a guy on a date and my friend had my location the whole time and if anything had gone wrong I could easily text her quickly and she knew the timeline of the date. I also had key words with her. So if I needed her to call me with an emergency to get me out of the date, I’d send an animal emoji etc

Always tell someone the location you’re going to. Good practice is to get the license plate and send it to a friend. Share your location on your phone with a friend. If you feel something is off, leave right away. Trust your gut. Get paragara non hormonal iud. But tbh don’t have anything too casual .. there are many diseases out there and crazy people. Get to know someone a bit. Have fun dating.
