Do you have to have a fever to have mastitis ? I have had a painful lump under my boob for almost 3 days now. I have had clogs in the past but nothing like this. It’s painful to the touch and I can’t even lie on that side. I get some relief when the boob is emptied but the pain comes back and the lump remains there. I called my OB and all she suggested were things I have already tried (warm compress, ice, Tylenol, massage, hand expression). She won’t prescribe an antibiotic unless I have a fever. I’m at a loss it hurts so bad and none of my normal tricks are working 😩
