HSG experiences?

I’m going in for my HSG on Thursday; I’ve had prior surgeries involving the removal of my left ovary and Fallopian tube— should I expect much discomfort? The most recent surgery was 2019–

Yes discomfort you will experience that. I had one a couple months ago

I’ve had numerous HSG done, and it has never been painful for me. You can experience and expect some discomfort, cramping, spotting for a few days afterward. But ultimately it shouldn’t be pain. There are, however, some women who experience pain. Especially if there is a blockage.

Everyone’s experience is different. Some have lots of discomfort while others not so much. I had mine and it wasn’t terrible, quite crampy but it was fairly quick and the staff were great in explaining and talking me through it. I had more cramping after. I will say my tubes were clear! I believe you can take ibuprofen before but check with your doc. Just relax and don’t stress yourself out. It will all be over quickly. All the best!!
