How to reduce cholesterol while BF?

My cholesterol is somewhat high, what are some healthy ways to reduce it while breastfeeding? I love eggs and I think that’s part of my problem….

Exercise for 30 min 3x per week. Lots of fruit, veggies, & whole grains. Have fatty fish (like salmon) 2x weekly for your omegas. Reduce the amount of dairy, red meat, & seafood you eat. No trans fat. I had a high reading after I had my last child and I started seeing a registered dietitian. This is a hand out she gave me.

Keep in mind that cholesterol levels may NOT be completely accurate in the postpartum period. Mine were quite high a couple months after birth, then we’re back to normal when we checked again a few months later (didn’t make any big changes).Eating real foods (e.g. fruits, vegetables, whole grains), reducing saturated fat, and exercising regularly will all help maintain healthy cholesterol levels though! Cholesterol consumption itself (like through egg yolks) has actually been shown not to effect cholesterol levels that much unless you’re eating a LOT of eggs. You could also use less yolks. For example, crack 5 eggs, but remove 3 yolks. The white part of the egg is just protein, no cholesterol nor fat.

Any chance you can see a dietitian? I agree with what everyone else has said but it's always good to get professional advice. For my husband's high cholesterol, the thing that has been the easiest to keep up as well as having a positive impact is a high fibre diet.I say this because while I'm breastfeeding my dairy cravings are intense and I think I'd have a hard time cutting dairy.

Exercise! Increase fiber!Avoid trans fats and decrease saturated fats. But as someone else said cholesterol might not be reliable during pregnancy and while breastfeeding
