Flying from NC to Hawaii with 25-month-old?
Hi everyone,
My partner and I used to travel all the time before COVID and the baby, but we haven’t been on a single vacation since summer of 2019. We’re long overdue.
Partner desperately wants to go to Hawaii with our baby, who will be 25 months, and partner’s 9 y/o son (my stepson) this summer. I’ve agreed so far, but I’m so nervous.
We will be flying from North Carolina, so it’s a long connecting flight.
I’m nervous about flying with the little one, about going to the beach with a tiny baby who’s never been in a pool much less near an ocean, about how we will all manage to sleep in a hotel and how I’ll manage to sleep at all with the time change and sleep-battling toddler. I’m nervous that it won’t be relaxing and but I also want to do this. I just want to be assured that it will be okay (physically and mentally) and I want to make sure that I set us up for success. I’ve also developed a fear of flying since having the baby, probably due to PPA?
My mother insists that she’s too young to take such a big trip.
Anyone (a) taken long flights with young toddlers? or (b) taken young babies to Hawaii or similar beach vacation? Any tips?
Thanks so much in advance!
