When to go to urgent care ?

we just moved to a new state and dont have insurance, pediatrician, etc set up for our baby yet. she’ll be 6 months old in a week, and she has a fever as of last night (about 15 hours ago). Whenever the tylenol wears off, she gets to 101.2-101.9. She coughs sometimes but it just seems like she’s choking on her drool, not like a sick cough. She has no other symptoms that i’ve noticed, just cranky and has a fever. Shes still nursing well, so shes not dehydrated or anything. At what point do we need to take her to the urgent care to be looked at ?

Since it goes down with meds, I wouldn’t rush in to the doctors. It’s likely a virus that just needs to pass. Under 102 isn’t concerning.

If she has a fever of almost 102 I would be taking her in regardless of other symptoms.

Could be teething, you can always get checked out if you feel you need to.

Try a cool bath. I'm just saying from experience I brought my little guy for a 104 fever and they made me feel like an idiot at the er. They told me to rotate Tylenol and mortin and give him cool baths. Ultimately you know your baby and if she's acting out of the ordinary definitely Take her in.

Sounds like a virus.  As long as baby is staying hydrated and isn’t getting worse I’d just stay home!  We personally don’t medicate for fevers, we let the body do it’s natural thing and fight it off.  I wouldn’t do the cool bath though, if you bring down a fever too quickly it can lead to seizures.
