Outlook on autism

Those of you with older autistic kids... What did your journey look like?

Sitting here waiting on a diagnosis, but knowing it's coming. Lots of emotions. I think reading some encouraging stories from others in a similar situation would help 😁.

For reference, my son is 3. A gestalt language processor, most likely an adhd-er, enjoys playing with others, but lacks social norms & boundaries (hugging strangers repetitively), makes great eye contact, is overstimulated in busy areas/crowds, has a lot of oral sensory needs, is well behind cognitively but identifies his numbers through 11 & over half of the alphabet.. has no stims outside of language. Sleeps great, eats great. A runner.... Like out in public just takes off (safety concerns). Gives the best hugs & kisses. That was random and grammatically incorrect, but you get the point 😁
