My friends group is falling apart and idk who's side to take

I just turned 18 and I'm bisexual. I made friends at the gay straight alliance at the youth group when I was 16. We've all be friends together. My friends were a bit older. I'm just 18 and most people in the group are between 20 and 27. The only one younger than me is a guy who's 17 and I'll call him Eddie. Eddie joined the friends group around when I did and he was 15. Another guy that I will call David is 22 and him and Eddie started dating when Eddie was 16. Legal age of consent here. Everything was fine but the friends group already got a little Shakey when Eddie and David broke up but we all still managed to stay friends. A little over a month ago they celebrated my friend Amelia's 21st birthday and I couldn't go because I was grounded so I wasn't there to witness what happened. There are two different sides. Eddie's side is he got drunk and was throwing up and went to lay down and woke up to David having sex with him. David's side is he went to check on Eddie and they started mutually making out and having sex. Eddie's version he was asleep. David's version is he was awake. Everyone in my friends group just isn't taking sides and staying neutral. But is it really staying neutral if nobody hangs out with Eddie anymore? I've asked my mom for advice and she said since she's a rape victim she's a bit biased but she believes to always side with the victim. David is saying he's gonna plead guilty because he'll most likely lose anyway since Eddie is a minor so he's gonna take the probation. But he is still sticking to his story. I'm just stuck on what to do and since my mom says she's biased I want more than one opinion.
