Day care waitlists

I’m expecting my first child in May. I’ve toured a few day cares already. I wanted to make sure I looked early enough because all my friends and pregnancy apps say how bad the waitlists are. We won’t need day care until Jan, so this is like 11 months out. Well all the day cares I’ve toured, none currently have a waitlist for younger kids. I’m almost like is this a red flag?? One of the day cares mentioned since Covid their enrollment went down but then I wonder where all these kids are? I do live in an urban area where there’s a day care at almost every intersection, so there is a lot of choices, so this might play a part. And also working from home is big in my area so maybe people are just keeping their kids home? Anyways would you think it were a red flag that none of these day cares have waitlists??
