No-one can answer that question... Some may grow out of it, others not, it may also become worse. 
So for now use a detergent that doesn't trigger anything, and stay with it.

I know it’s not eczema but with me and my eczema I used to break out so badly with the button on your jeans. My mom when I was little would put me a big bandaid on the days I wore jeans so it wouldn’t touch my skin. I still have eczema as an adult and now the button on my jeans don’t break me out. He could grow out of it or maybe not. Just give it time

Have to wait and find out, I'm still allergic to certain washing powders and sometimes I can use the gel but not the powder. It's all trial and error.its not really a problem though I just buy the powder I can use

Maybe he will, maybe he won't. I'd just avoid that detergent in the future.

It's an intolerance. It can both ways. There is no way to know for sure, but just be on the safe side and avoid it. Allergy friendly detergent will be fine.
And it sucks, but I'm living a pretty good life despite several different intolerances and some allergies.
It's very common due to the amount of things we get exposed to.
