How many ultrasounds is normal?

In my last 2 pregnancy’s and at a different OB, I had an ultrasound every time. This time I have had 2! One for the due date and one to see how baby developed at 8 weeks. I am now 12 weeks and don’t have an ultrasound scheduled until I’m 20 weeks 🥺 Anyone else’s OB like that?

2 is normal. I'm high risk and have had 2 so far but I'm 24 weeks now and will have 1 every appointment now

At my OB, three ultrasounds is routine. First ultrasound around 10 weeks, anatomy scan around 20 weeks, growth scan around 36 weeks. 
With both my kids I had an additional scan. With my son, they couldn’t see his heart well due to positioning during the anatomy scan so my next appointment 4 weeks later included a quick ultrasound to look at his heart. With my daughter, they chose to go off my LMP to schedule my first appointment and ultrasound even though I told them I knew I wasn’t that far along (irregular periods) so I had an ultrasound at 7.5 weeks, was told to reschedule my initial appt. because I wasn’t far enough along, and went back at 11 weeks for my initial and another ultrasound.

I had one at my first appointment (10 weeks), one at the dating scan (12 weeks), and then the anatomy scan (22 weeks). I also paid for an elective ultrasound at 16 weeks.

I didn’t even have my first until 20 weeks! Then I had ultrasounds at 22 and 24 weeks because they needed better views for my anatomy scan. I had 2 growth scans late in my third trimester. One at 36 weeks and one at 39 weeks. But if I had a completely normal pregnancy I probably would’ve only had anatomy and MAYBE one growth scan.

2-3 total is the norm for a healthy pregnancy.
Some places do more if they have an ultrasound tech in office but that’s not as common.

2 ultrasounds are totally normal! My last pregnancy I only had 2. This pregnancy i went in at 10 weeks and 20 weeks. I also go every 4 weeks for growth scans due to preeclampsia my last pregnancy and this baby having a 2 vessel cord.

I had one at 8 to confirm viability, 12 for NT as a screening for Down syndrome, and 20 for anatomy scan. Then had one at 35w due to complications. But it’s normal to have 2-3 total!

Mine only did one at 8-9 weeks and then 20 weeks unless something was wrong.
