Would you take your child to the doctor?
So Tuesday night my 4.5 year old started feeling sick and running a fever of just over 101F. He is autistic so it’s hard for him to tell me exactly what’s wrong but he told me his ear hurt. He has seasonal allergies and where we live in Florida, EVERYTHING is blooming, so I was like “okay he is having some allergies that have clogged his ear.” This happens to me too, I get allergies and I get ear pain. Makes sense right? I gave him some Motrin for pain and he felt better and was playing/eating normally. Wednesday he woke up and was still running a temp so I kept him home from school. For the most part he was himself yesterday, just a little more subdued. Now today his temp is down between 98-99, but he’s NOT himself. He says nothing hurts, and he’s eating some strawberries at the moment. But he is so tired and exhausted acting after sleeping allll night. I kept him home from school again. He’s just laying there extremely subdued. He’s usually bouncing all over the place. So it’s out of character. I hate to constantly run to the doctor for things they just over prescribe antibiotics for or tell me it’s just a virus. Always seems like a waste of time and exposes you to more germs in those waiting rooms. 🤢 But just thought I’d ask, wwyd? Tl;dr- low grade to no fever, just tired acting now.
