menstrual cup leaking no matter what i do

i use à saalt cup and have been using cups for close to a year now, yet i still have to wear pads or panty liners because it seems that no matter what i do i always leak. sometimes it’s leaking actual blood and i know i need to adjust the cup, but other times it’s brown blood and when i take the cup out i can see there was no leaks on the side of the cup. what do i do to fix this? i love using cups but i would like it better if i didn’t have to wear a backup panty liner or pad
