A long pause then a restart
I’m 25. Up until January of this year I hadn’t had a period in over a year. I have never been pregnant, I hadn’t had sex around that time. It was drying up before then though. 2019 I had them every 3 months. Then I’m 2020 it was down to every 6 months. Then one period in all of 2021. 2022 nothing. Not a cramp, not a spot nothing. I had started getting what I would consider to be menopausal symptoms, heat flashes, some facial hair growth, rapid weight gain.
Now January of this year comes along and I had my first period in a LONG time. It was painful, but there wasn’t a lot of blood. Today February 17th, I started it again. So that is pretty regular if my cycle is going to be this way. This time though it’s a full-blown period. It’s only day one and I know my body will be back to bleeding as much as it used to.
I’m so confused. I don’t know why they stopped. I don’t know why they’re starting again. I’m just confused. I’m not upset really, I didn’t mind not getting a period. But it was a bit of a concern. I know that a whole year of none is not normal. So I’m glad they started again. I’m just not looking forward to the mess and the mood swings and cramps.
