Cervix exam

I’ll be 30 weeks on Monday. I got rear ended on Thursday and they admitted me into the hospital just to make sure baby is okay. When I finally got into labor and delivery they did a BUNCH of tests on me and then they informed me they’d be doing a cervix exam. That is the most EXCRUCIATINGLY painful exam I have ever had. I was literally lifting up off of the bed and tearing up from how bad the pain was. Moving forward I probably will not be getting my cervix checked… I’ve heard it’s pretty unnecessary? They said I was 1cm dilated but that wasn’t anything to be alarmed about.
