What to do when baby keeps crying...

So I'm just curious what other moms out there do when your baby is fed and clean and keeps crying and you know they're ok... I do what my mom says and sometimes just let them cry, I don't want them to get in the habit of always being held... Any advice

Letting an infant cry it out is very sad to me. They don't understand. They need something from you. They only stop crying or fall aslee out of exhaustion. Breaks my heart.

How old is your baby? Before 6 months and even beyond that. habits aren't really a concern. They are crying because they need something from you, even if it's just to be held. I know it can see frustrating, but very young babies don't cry for no reason and they're looking to have their needs met. I just hold her if she's crying, walk around or sing to her. Sometimes nothing works, but she knows I'm there.

If it's warm enough I'll take her out on the porch or for a walk around the neighborhood. She loves being outside and usually calms down within a minute of me taking her out there. If it's too cold I'll walk around the house with her or just get in the shower with her. The warm water, being held against my bare chest, and the sound of running water calm her down and she'll just look around. It's usually because she's overly tired and fighting her sleep, especially after all the family getogethers for Christmas!!

I've taken a shower with my son when I can't get him to relax. It's also important to know that if the crying is getting to much for you it's ok to put your baby in his crib and walk a way for a few min to regroup.

How old is your baby? My dd is almost 2.5 months and so I know which cries of hers are real cries or not. Sometimes she's cold and tired and just needs a cuddle and to be wrapped up in a blanket. I do let her cry when she's in her bed and it's bedtime and she's just tired and complaining. Other times she just wants to be held. My dd will start to fuss every single day around 6pm because I am getting dinner ready and the boy I daycare is getting picked up and I'm not as available to pick her up as I am the rest of the day. My dh looked up why she was doing this and when I would give her to him and walk away she'd scream even more and he said what he read said that it's because she's realizing she's her own person and so she gets seperation anxiety. Don't know how much of that is true though.

I talk to my son very softly and tell him about my day and I play meditation music. He usually calms down in a minute or two and will eventually fall asleep

I find she's either tired and wants to lay down or she needs a change in hands or scenery
