When did you pack your hospital bag?

I’m currently 24 weeks and 3 days, and I began packing up a few things like onesies and my pjs. When did everyone else start? Also why are some of the most important things to pack?

34-35 weeks is when I packed with my first and probably what l will do again with this pregnancy. I also packed way too much and didn’t use 1/2 of what I packed. Really only need a couple outfits for baby, going home outfit for you, I had a comfy hospital gown for after labor, phone charger, and toiletries. That’s all I used that was mine. Everything else I used from hospital while I was there.

I packed mine around 32 weeks- which wasn’t as “early” as I thought I was since I went into labor at 36 weeks lol. The only thing in my bag I really used was my personal toiletries- shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, brush, deodorant etc. the shower after giving birth is like the most humanizing thing ever. Having your own supplies and not having to use the hospitals was very comfortable and helped me feel like me again. Also, shower sandals (because gross) and a going home outfit for you and baby. A phone charger with a long cord can be helpful if you use your phone a lot (I didn’t find I had the time). Other than that I don’t think I used anything else from my bag- they really give you tons of supplies and everything you need for baby (diapers, wipes, swaddle, onesie, hat, etc). Make sure you travel with your correctly installed car seat the last few weeks too! This saved me from having to buy a second, as I didn’t make it to my hospital to deliver and wasn’t near home to have had hubs go grab ours.

My last pregnancy I packed about week 32ish. 
I’m in Mexico so ours are really basic. 
We packed 2 onesies one nb and the other 0-3. With a baby vest socks and hat. And like 2-3 diapers and wet wipes. 
For me it was undergarments, a dress socks shoes. And basic toiletries ( toothpaste and toothbrush, hairbrush and scrunchie, and moisturizer) they ask us the be showered before arriving to give birth. If the stay is longer then 24 hr it includes shampoo and soap.

I like planning early, so I normally pack around 30 weeks. 
You don’t really need a lot, just stuff to go home and stuff to make you comfortable. I’ll be bringing snacks, pjs, shower stuff (I also like to bring my makeup), the depends diaper pads are way better than the ones the hospital provides, fuzzy socks were nice, and my own pillow. Also a long charger was a must! The hospital had everything I needed for baby. I just brought cute pjs, going home outfit, and any props for pictures. Also install your car seat ahead of time to save yourself the stress of possibly forgetting it.

36-37 weeks I start packing my bag but don’t get done til right before I go in….the last 2 were inductions at 39 weeks…..had all my babies at 39 weeks…..( this is baby number 5)

With all my pregnancies I started packing at 30 weeks, I plan on doing the same! Though this time we are traveling for the birth so we will be packing an extra bag for the stay up till birth and bring the hospital bag with us as long as we don't go into labor sooner!!

I’ll pack the majority of things around 32 weeks. Here’s a rough draft of my list (this is baby #3). I’m hoping to be able to leave after 24 hours but I always pack extra things just in case I have an emergency c-section or other complications that will make my stay much longer.

*I want to point out I don’t bring a blow dryer or other hair styling tools. I prefer to wash my body but not my hair while in the hospital (hence dry shampoo). I bring my shampoo/conditioner just in case birth gets a little too messy but styling my hair is not on my priority list while I’m at the hospital so I don’t bring those things. If you want to have to option to do your hair don’t forget to add those things!

I’ll pack the night before I go in to have my c section. I don’t know sex of baby a friend of family does and plans to order our stuff for baby so my husband will pick up that stuff after I give birth.
