1st laparoscopy, any tips?

Ok so I have my first laparoscopy jan 27th. So far it is just to diagnose endometriosis. Just trying to get a feel on how long I should take off work or if I  even need to take the next day off.  Any insight will be appriciated!

Yes you should take a week off. That's what I did for both of my laparoscopys. I had one when I was 20 and was diagnosed with endometriosis and I had another 5 years ago when I was 30 to remove some more.  I found that I was pretty sore for the first few days after and started to do more by the end of the week.

Thank you! I am just scared they won't find anything! Did anybody have an issue with that? I have a strong family history and every symptom but sometimes people make me feel like it is in my head and every woman has the same issues.

I had it done on a Wednesday and was back to work on monday

I was out of it for two days. And then on pain killers for the next four. Pretty much back to myself in one week.

Yes thank you! I found things online that said a week and I knew that couldn't be right! I have a pretty flexible job but a week is pushing it. Also I am used to working with pain lol

Hello. I had the same thing done about 2 years ago. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. You would need to stay off your feet for the rest of the day (outpatient) and you should be ready to return work in about 2-3 days post-surgery. Hope this is helpful.
