Clomid 50mg ??

Question

Hey guys. My doctor wants me to start on a cycle of clomid 50mg to assure ovulation. Has anyone taken clomid and got their bfp? Are there any side effects? Does it increase your chances of twins? Does it have to be done in conjunction with opk's? Should I take it even if I'm ovulating on my own? I'm so nervous and confused please help!

Hi Keisha!  I'm on month 2, no BFP yet, but only on POD 3 right now.  I ovulate fine as well but doc said it will hyperstimulate my ovaries!  I think twins are only 5-10% chance but my doc says she has never seen it happen.  GL!!

I'm on my second lot of clomid. I took my first lot 19 months ago and fell pregnant on my first cycle, but I miscarried at 5 weeks. 
​I ovulate on my own but my dr has given me clomid to help my chances. 
​The chance of twins is a little higher, but nothing to be too concerned about I shouldn't think. 
​I can get a bit moody at times but that's mainly it. I snap at DH and then say sorry straight away! Lol wishing you lots of luck and baby dust x x x

I just finished my first cycle. It made me have hot flashes, and a little emotional which came after finishing the pills and not while taking them. No BFP, temp dropped today, waiting on AF so we can move onto round 2. I was crampy in the TWW which is unusual, but I googled it and found that to be very common also. Other than that, it was nothing major at all. My BBT was a little erratic while actually taking the pills, but went back to normal just before O.

And yes. I would recommend using OPK's and checking BBT so you know if you actually ovulated.

I just started my first around of Clomid. Mine was prescribed because I wasn't ovulating on my own. I haven't been experiencing any side effects yet. It does increase the chance of twins because you can release more than one egg but the percentage is actually pretty low. If you're ovulating on your own I'm sure you were prescribed the drug simply to help your chances.
