2 week period?

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I've never had this problem before but I am on birth control but I'm not having sex right now, I just take it for my cramps and just in case I were to start a relationship I want to stay safe. I was in a relationship and having sex but we broke up about 2 months ago. But last month, I missed more than three days (which is why I downloaded this app, for the reminder) and I had to wait about 2 weeks (until I started my period) to start a new pack. So I started my period on Sunday, March 23rd and started the new pack the same day and I bled for about a week pretty heavily then for the next 2 - 3 days it was so light that I thought I was almost off, but then I started to bleed very heavily again and it has been that way ever since. Could this just be from messing up on my birth control last month and having to start a new pack or should I call my doctor?
