How soon should we announce?

My husband and I just found out we are expecting our first a few days ago.  I go for my first ultrasound on 4/24, but we would like to announce on Easter.  Is that too soon?  I'm 5 weeks now.  Any thoughts?

I told my family at 11 weeks and mc at 12 weeks dec 6 curently ttc. But would tell my family the minute dr confirmed it. I need their suppose after the first mc

Many people wait till they are 12+ weeks. It is very unlikely to MC after you are out of the first trimester. If you are itching to tell people then tell those who you would be comfortable telling. Make sure they are supportive people Bc they will be the ones who will be their for you if did MC. Best of luck, I pray your pregnancy is a happy/easy one.

Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts and advice!  I know I shouldn't worry too much about a possible MC, but it's always in the back of my mind.  I think we'll just go ahead and announce, and let The Lord take care of the rest!  :)

At the detectible sound of the fetal heart beat ( around 6 weeks) the rate of MC drops to a measly 2%

The first time we were preg we told everyone and i MC a week later and for months had people coming up to me asking how the baby was, very awkward... Thats was many years ago after 2mc then a dtr and finally 7 years later we are pregnant agian, this time we told our parents right away, so we would have support and prayers, after we got a strong heart beat at 8 weeks we told grandparents and close family and a few very close friends. We will wait until 18 weeks when we have our gender scan to announce on fb!!! To each is their own, but letting ur family know is awesome bc they can share in ur happiness and pray for u and be there to support u emotionally and u can ask for advice

​My first pregnancy we told our parent at 5 wks and next we had MC and it was hard to tell them they not going to get a grandchild after all. I'm pregnant again and we decide tell family and friend at 12 wk when we had second untrasound to confirmed the heartbeat was still strong.

​ I chosed to tell my sisters and one close friend that I was pregnant at 4 wks to get support. You alway want support when your are pregnant. You go through changes that you are not sure and you get worry a lot which the support will help.

​My husband and I want to tell the world when we finally receive again after the first MC. But we want to wait until the 1st Ultrasound to confirmed. We ask the doctor what she think and due to my age of 36 and health condition high risk of pregnancy at 4 to 12wks so we decide to until 12 wks.

I figured I would share with my close friends & family. Think of it this way, if your comfortable sharing the news of the unfortunate event of miscarrying with certain people then share. I told my mom, dad, in laws, and 3 of my best gf & DH told 3 of his best friends too. Once we hear the heart beat we will share with more family & after the first trimester is passed I'll officially share with everyone!

I think that decision is totally up to you and DH. Everyone is different when it comes to this :) when I was pregnant we told our parents and close family members and than I MC and having their support was one of the best things. Do whatever feels right for you!
